Professor Jerome Chanes will deliver the lecture following services on the topic of "Religion and Politics; Politics and Religion." Prof. Chanes is Faculty Scholar at Brandeis University's Cohen Center, has taught at Barnard, Y.U., and Harvard, and is a regular lecturer for Drisha and CLAL.

Dr. Lisa Schlaff will deliver a class on the Haggadah following services. Dr. Schlaff is coordinator of the Judaic Studies curriculum at SAR High School in Riverdale, New York.

PESACH
Classes
Shabbat April 5th: Rabbi Mintz will discuss "Erev Pesach on Shabbat: The Practical and Conceptual Ramifications."
Shabbat April 12th: Rabbi Mintz will deliver the Shabbat Hagadol Drasha on the topic of "Hallel at the Seder".
These classes will take place on Shabbat afternoon one hour before mincha.

CHOMETZ-A-RAMA

Check our website at www.rayimahuvim.org for the complete Pesach schedule. All services will take place at KRA, 241 West 72nd Street. Please note that challah rolls will be available at KRA on Friday night, April 18th, and Shabbat morning, April 19th, enabling people to make hamotzi in shul and to continue their kosher for Pesach meal at home.

The sale of Chametz will be available with Rabbi Mintz beginning on Sunday, April 6th. Please click here to download the form. Note that the sale of chametz must be completed before Tuesday night April 15, 2008.

 
UPCOMING EVENTS
YOM HASHOAH COMMUNITY READING OF NAMES: This year's reading will take place on Wednesday, April 30th, at B'nai Jeshurun, 257 West 88th Street (between Broadway and West End Avenue). KRA's time for reading of names is 3:30-4:00 am.
YOM HAATZMAUT: The community-wide Yom Haatzmaut celebration will take place on Wednesday evening ,May 7th , at Manhattan Day School. Details to follow.
RABBI MINTZ'S SPRING LECTURE SERIES: This lecture series will begin on Tuesday, May 13th. The topic of the series will be "The World of Our Grandfathers: Part II". Please note that this semester the class will meet on Tuesday evenings.
